So, I made my own lace skull shirt.
Here's how you can make one. It's really easy and doesn't not require a sewing machine! Woohoo!
1) Find a shirt.
Any blank shirt, any style, any color. The shirt I used is actually a child's medium. I find they fit better, and look better, than cheap adult sized shirts sold for crafts or in packages. They tend to be cheaper, too.
2) Choose a skull design.
Go play on Google and search for a simple skull design or stencil. There are tons online, from basic to extreme. You don't even have to use a skull. How about a rose? Or Totoro? Or Hello Kitty? Or a zombie? Print said picture so that it fits the entire page.
3) Cut out skull design
I used an X-acto knife because it creates nicer lines, but if all you have is scissors, have at it.
4) Cut out skull design on lace material
Pin the paper skull cut out on the lace material. Cut out the skull by cutting around the design. You can also trace the design to the material first, if you like, using a pencil, washable cloth marker, or chalk.
5) Sew lace skull to shirt
Pin the lace skull to the shirt wherever you want it. Place it on the front, back, side, whatever. It's your shirt. Sew the skull to the shirt using thread the same color as the lace material. Sew as close to the edge as possible and keep the stitches tiny so they aren't noticeable.
6) Wear it
Do you really need me to explain how to wear a shirt?
